Millions of Noncitizens Obtain Social Security Numbers During the Biden Administration
Recent data shows a notable rise in the issuance of Social Security numbers to noncitizens, surpassing 2 million in FY 2024 alone.
A recent graph displayed at a town hall gathering in Wisconsin revealed that millions of noncitizens have received Social Security numbers during the Biden presidency.
The information, covering fiscal years 2021 to 2025, shows a consistent annual rise, with over 2 million noncitizen Social Security numbers being issued in FY 2024. This figure contributes to a larger total, with about 1 million noncitizens obtaining Social Security numbers in both FY 2023 and FY 2025. Antonio Gracias, who has been involved with the federal government’s Social Security system, presented the chart.
Gracias noted that the data was discovered during an audit aimed at detecting fraud within the system.
These findings have garnered attention, especially considering the large figures involved.
In addition to the noncitizen statistics, audits have also found that around 7 million Social Security accounts belong to individuals reported as older than 120 years, and approximately 20 million accounts are registered to deceased individuals.
These revelations are part of a wider investigation into various federal programs and agencies, including the Social Security Administration.
The matter of noncitizen access to public services has been widely discussed, with previous executive orders instructing agencies to ensure that these services are meant for U.S. citizens.
Recent efforts have also concentrated on enhancing communication between agencies to prevent noncitizens from benefiting from public housing programs.
