Donald Trump greeted U.S. troops and military families at Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, North Carolina, after delivering a highly-welcomed address that highlighted the strength and readiness of the United States armed forces.
The visit brought Trump together with service members from the XVIII Airborne Corps and members of the Army’s Special Operations Command, as well as their families, reinforcing his administration’s emphasis on national defence.
In his remarks, delivered on February 13, Trump praised American forces as among the “best led, best trained and best equipped” in the world, reflecting what he described as a revitalisation of military capability under his leadership.
He celebrated recent enlistment gains and asserted that the United States is respected on the global stage, citing both “Operation Midnight Hammer” against Iranian nuclear facilities and the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro as examples of U.S. tactical strength.
The president expressed deep gratitude to the troops for their service and underscored his commitment to bolstering military readiness and investment.
Trump also noted the restoration of the Fort Bragg name as a tribute to military tradition and encouraged continued excellence within the ranks.
First Lady Melania Trump accompanied the president, offering her own remarks to soldiers and their families ahead of Trump’s address, acknowledging the sacrifices military families make as part of America’s defence community.
The event featured a warm reception from those gathered, with Trump shaking hands and engaging directly with service members after his speech concluded.
The visit, which blended ceremonial honour with discussion of strategic defence priorities, reaffirmed Trump’s focus on American military strength and unity with the armed forces at a major Army installation central to U.S. operations worldwide.
