Justice Department Expands State Reporting Requirements for Undocumented Immigrants

The Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel has concluded that all agencies in states participating in federal TANF and Supplemental Security Income programmes must report people known to be unlawfully present to the Department of Homeland Security, replacing a narrower interpretation dating from 1998.
