Attorney General Merrick Garland Pays Tribute to FBI Director Christopher Wray at Farewell Event

Garland highlights Wray's leadership and dedication to national security, law enforcement, and the rule of law.
In a heartfelt farewell event, Attorney General Merrick Garland honored FBI Director Christopher Wray for his exceptional leadership and public service.

Wray, who took on the pivotal role in 2017, has overseen numerous high-profile investigations and strengthened the Bureau's partnerships with law enforcement agencies across the country.

Garland praised Wray for his dedication to the FBI's mission of protecting the American people, upholding the Constitution, and ensuring the independence of the Bureau.

Wray’s leadership was highlighted during critical moments, including major terrorist investigations and his efforts to build strong relationships with international law enforcement.

Garland also acknowledged the importance of Wray’s leadership in maintaining the FBI's integrity and independence in its investigations, emphasizing the need for equal application of the law for all citizens.

As a tribute to his outstanding service, Garland presented Wray with the Edmund J.

Randolph Award, the highest honor an Attorney General can bestow.

The award recognized Wray’s lifelong commitment to law enforcement and his role in safeguarding the nation.
